Schools are autonomous entities, managed by their own boards of management. Schools in financial difficulty are encouraged to contact my Department for assistance. The FSSU is a source of financial advice and support to schools, and schools that are referred to the FSSU by my Department receive appropriate assistance and guidance from that unit. The Department is in regular contact with the FSSU concerning schools in financial difficulty, and other matters. It would not be appropriate for my Department to provide a list of schools referred to the FSSU.
