The school to which the Deputy refers was approved a SEN reconfiguration, 1 modular mainstream classroom, 1 modular SET room and 1 modular Art room under the SEN Reconfiguration and Modular Accommodation programme 2024. This work is being delivered under the services of KSN project managers.
The brief agreed by the school authority and currently being delivered is for the reconfiguration of one classroom. The current request by the school principal is for works to a second room. The school authority at the initial time of engagement with the department did not request works to this room. If works are required to this second room the school authority will need to make a new application for grant funding under the Additional School Accommodation scheme (ASA).
My Department is fully aware of the urgency in respect of this accommodation and will be working with the school to keep it updated on overall project delivery and timelines.
