103. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he will detail whether any surveys have been carried out to estimate the amount of time taken up with administrative tasks where such time could be used more efficiently; if so, in which areas of the Department has this examination been carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that my Department has not undertaken any surveys to estimate the amount of time taken up with administrative tasks as outlined by the Deputy.
Notwithstanding this, my Department is constantly working to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and performance across its operational areas. One of the Key Strategic Actions in my Departments Statement of Strategy is ‘Ag Obair Le Chéile'. The aim of ‘Ag Obair Le Chéile’ is to examine the Department's corporate policies, processes and procedures and identify any gaps or areas which can be improved. This suite of strategic actions includes but is not limited to IT systems, organisational structures, maximising staff contribution and capacity through training and career development, records management, financial management and strategic planning processes.
