I am advised by Revenue that the provisional 2024 receipts for Tobacco Products Tax (TPT), together with the declared volumes released for consumption are shown in the table below. The table also provides an estimate of the retail value of cigarettes released for consumption. I am further advised that as TPT for “Fine Cut” tobacco(for roll your own cigarettes), Cigars, and other smoking tobacco (e.g. for pipe smoking) is calculated on weight only, the available data does not permit an estimation of the total retail value of these products.

Tobacco Product TPT €m Volume* Estimated Value €bn
Cigarettes 840.1 1,666,948 1.34
Fine Cut 128.5 273,992 Not Available
Cigars 5.3 11,090 Not Available
Other Smoking 2.1 5,354 Not Available
*Cigarettes `000s; Fine Cut, Cigars & Other Smoking kgs.
