To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will make a statement on data sharing restrictions in respect of statutory authorities under his department; and, in particular, if he will make a statement on the National Transport Authority’s ability to share anonymised information about speeding and other traffic offences with residents associations. The National Transport Authority does not hold data on speeding and traffic offences. Such information is captured by An Garda Síochána in the first instance and shared with the Road Safety Authority (RSA), in line with its statutory remit to collect, prepare, publish and distribute road safety statistics.
