To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he has been in communication with the Department for Social Protection as part of the interdepartmental working group tasked with assessing the impact of a new, non-binary, category of gender on existing legislation; when he is planning the next meeting with the representatives from the Department for Social Protection to investigate legislative implications of non-binary gender recognition; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Gender Recognition Act comes under the remit of my colleague, the Minister for Social Protection.
I understand that the Department of Social Protection will be in touch with my Department, as required, in due course, in relation to any inter-Departmental engagement or working group that may be required on this matter.
