319. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views on the proposed new RSA driving test centre for south Dublin; if his Department will assist the RSA in opening this test centre in the South Dublin County Council area given that Tallaght has the highest application in the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service, including the provision of test centres and their locations. Neither I, as Minister, nor my officials are involved in the operation of the service.

Given the RSA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct, detailed reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
