To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he will provide a schedule of all capital projects being delivered or which have been completed by his Department and organisations under the aegis of his Department since 1 January 2020; the total project cost of projects in excess of €500,000, or of any other capital projects below this that have come to his Department's attention for reasons of overspend or due to the fact they failed to be delivered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This Department has one major capital project, the National Broadband Plan, being delivered as part of Project Ireland 2040.

This plan is a core element of the implementation of the Digital Connectivity Strategy. The availability of high-speed, reliable, digital connectivity will support the delivery of Ireland’s economic and social ambitions, and will position Ireland at the forefront of European and global digital developments.

I am advised that since 2020, when the network rollout commenced, a sum of over €1.15 billion has been spent on the project. It is expected to be delivered on time and forecast to be on budget, with a maximum possible cost to the State of €2.7 billion over 25 years.
