To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if he will provide a schedule of all capital projects being delivered or which have been completed by his Department and organisations under the aegis of his Department since 1 January 2020; the total project cost of projects in excess of €500,000, or of any other capital projects below this that have come to his Department's attention for reasons of overspend or due to the fact that they failed to be delivered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Capital building projects for the Department of Social Protection are delivered by the Office of Public Works (OPW). The OPW is responsible for the design, procurement, and delivery of these projects, ensuring they meet the necessary standards, requirements and value for money. My Department funds some of these OPW capital projects from its own capital budget.

My Department funded the OPW capital projects listed below which were completed between 2020 and March 2025.

The below table depicts the capital building projects that were completed between 2020 and March 2025 that were in excess of €500,000.

As regards the organisations under the aegis of my Department, the following table outlines capital works carried out since 2020.

My Department has not had any overspends in the delivery of capital building works. However, there was an overspend of €4,267 on the CIB refurbishment costs, which were approximately €287,000 in total.
