To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if he has been in communication with the Department for Social Protection as part of the interdepartmental working group tasked with assessing the impact of a new, non-binary, category of gender on existing legislation; when he is planning the next meeting with the representatives from the Department for Social Protection to investigate legislative implications of non-binary gender recognition; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Minister for Social Protection has policy responsibility for the Gender Recognition Act 2015.
I am advised that my Department has not had any communication in relation to the interdepartmental working group and is not represented on the group.
