The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) is an independent, statutory body under the aegis of my Department. The WRC’s primary functions include the inspection of employment law compliance, the provision of information on employment law, mediation, adjudication, conciliation, and advisory services. The WRC does not comment on individual cases, and given the independence of the WRC, it is not appropriate for me as Minister to either comment or intervene when the WRC exercises its statutory functions. Insofar as the status of the detailed case, I am advised that there are several other associated cases which are listed for hearing by the WRC in May this year and that all linked cases will be heard in succession and that the decisions in all cases would issue simultaneously on conclusion of the matters. The WRC is dedicated to enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness to fulfil its mandate and deliver the highest possible standard of service to the public.
