It is the intention of An Garda Síochána to construct a new Divisional Headquarters for the DMR North Division, incorporating an enhanced custody suite for the DMR and a number of specialist training facilities for An Garda Síochána. The Office of Public Works is currently carrying out site evaluations. Once a preferred site is identified the Office of Public Works will attempt to acquire this site.

In addition, a Masterplan for part of the site at Northern Cross has been developed by the Office of Public Works and the Office is in discussions with Dublin City Council in respect to this site acquisition.
