Under EU and Irish law, all applicants for international protection are entitled to be offered accommodation and reception conditions by the State for the duration of their application.

The International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) is currently providing accommodation to 33,006 International Protection (IP) applicants, and over 9,000 of these are children with their families. IPAS currently has 321 accommodation centres, located across every county in Ireland.

The Department has a responsibility to protect the right to confidentiality of every IP applicant; this duty is set out in the International Protection Act 2015.

Accordingly, we do not currently publish further specific details on the locations of IPAS accommodation centres. This is due to both safety and security concerns, and to protect the right to privacy of international protection applicants.

IPAS releases weekly statistics in relation to IP applicants. This includes a per county breakdown of where IP applicants are residing and a wide range of other details. These statistics are located on the Gov.ie website: gov.ie - IPAS Statistics (www.gov.ie).
