The examination by my officials of the legislation governing the carriage of munitions of war on civil aircraft is ongoing. The existing legislation does not provide for the implementation of a system of routine inspections, therefore, mechanisms in support of these have not been established.

I expect to be briefed by my officials on these matters in due course.
