To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to address concerns that the proposal to allow the Carna Bay Hotel in Carna, in the Connemara Gaeltacht, to be used as an international protection accommodation centre will have a serious impact on the ability to retain a culture of the Irish language; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) is responsible for all contracted accommodation used to house Ukrainian Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP) and International Protection (IP) applicants and is engaged across Government concerning temporary accommodation for those in need of shelter.
