Under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (as amended), the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the administration and management of An Garda Síochána, which includes the enforcement of road traffic legislation and the Fixed Charge Notice system. As Minister, I have no role in such matters.
Below is a yearly breakdown, provided by An Garda Síochána, of the number of instances in which a party was issued with a Fixed Charge Notice for the offences of speeding and the evidence was obtained by speed camera for 2023 and 2024.
