Please see the information below regarding two bodies under my department's remit:
- The Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO) is a human rights institution that promotes the rights and welfare of young people under 18 years of age living in Ireland. The OCO investigates complaints about services provided to children by public organisations.
- The Office of the Disability Appeals Officer is an independent office funded by the Department of Children Equality and Disability. The Disability Appeals Officer is mandated under Part 2 of the Disability Act 2005 to decide or to mediate on appeals lodged against a finding or recommendation of, or in relation the non-implementation of a recommendation made by, the independent Complaints Officers of the HSE.
