The details requested by the Deputy are provided in the table below. The data reflect the number of passenger buses that were registered or taxed on my Department's National Vehicle and Driver File (NVDF) database from 2020 to 2024. The data are further categorised by state or private ownership and power source. The state-owned category includes agencies such as Bus Éireann and Bus Átha Cliath. The PHEV category represents Plug-in Electric Vehicles. BEV refers to Battery Electric vehicles (no internal combustion engine).
