288. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he is aware of the consistent delays on the Irish Rail service between Woodlawn and Galway, with trains frequently running at least ten minutes late; if he will engage with Irish Rail to address the reasons behind these ongoing delays; and what measures can be taken to improve the reliability of this service for commuters. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The issue raised by the Deputy in relation to delays between Woodlawn and Galway is an operational matter for Irish Rail. Therefore, I have referred the Deputy's question to Irish Rail for direct response to the Deputy.
