To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the annual amount claimed by special advisors attached to him or his Department outside of their regular salary, since 1 March 2020 to date in 2025, by mileage claim and amount, subsistence, other vouched expenses and unvouched expenses; and if the travel episode and or journey related to same will be included in the response. Expenses claimed by all special advisors were in compliance with the DPENDER circulars and were in accordance with Civil Service procedures.
The table below provides details of the expenses paid to Ministerial advisers in my Department from 1 March 2020 to date in 2025.
Minister Harris was in place from January 2020 - 08th April 2024.
Minister O’Donovan was in place from 09th April 2024 – 22nd January 2025.
Minister Lawless is in place from 23rd January 2025.
