In line with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduate's instructions, it is too early to issue a statement of need commencing June / July 2026 at this stage. The doctor in question has been advised to submit the required documentation to my Department in late 2025/early 2026. On receipt of current documentation at the time of application, the statement of need for 2026/2027 will be processed and issued. My officials process and issue statements of need within 7 to 10 days of receipt of application provided all the information is in order. While my Department does not issue written guarantees, it is envisaged that there will be no delay provided all relevant documents are supplied.
