I am deeply conscious of the significant impacts which Storm Éowyn had on households and businesses, given the unprecedented level of damage which took place.
The subject matter of this question relates to ESB Networks operational matters. Issues regarding he development and operation of the national electricity grid rest with EirGrid and ESB Networks. EirGrid, as Transmission System Operator, have responsibility for the development of the Transmission Network and ESB Networks, as Distribution System Operator, have responsibility for the development of the Distribution Network. EirGrid and ESB Networks are independent of the Minister in the exercise of their respective functions.
As such, in this case, the Deputy should engage directly with ESB Networks in the first instance regarding the issue raised. ESB Networks has a contact email address for Deputies, oireachtas@esb.ie, should they wish to raise matters of concern such as that raised in the Question.
