1267. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in cases in which farmers are in a partnership if farm payments can be paid to all partners equally as opposed to one partner; the steps available to a farmer in a partnership where one partner received the payment but is not paying it out to the other partners in the partnership; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department offers incentives to Partnerships including the Collaborative Farm Grant Scheme and other benefits are available from other agencies such as preferential stock relief from the Revenue Commissioners.
At the core of partnerships is a written legal agreement between the various members which sets out the conditions of the partnership including where payments are to be made. Members of a farm partnership who own individual sets of entitlements receive a combined payment to an agreed bank account and no changes to this arrangement are envisaged.
My Department has no role in resolution or mediation of disputes within partnerships, rather this is a legal matter for the participants themselves.
