The Department of Justice provides support for organisations that work in the Victims of Crime area, including provision of support, information and advice on the rights of victims, and court and other services, specialised counselling services, helplines and training initiatives.

Funding is provided to organisations that can demonstrate that they comply with the objectives of the Victims of Crime Fund and can demonstrate that they have the required management and compliance policies and procedures in place, and will meet reporting requirements.

The appraisal process for the 2025 Victims of Crime Fund has concluded and we are now in the process of issuing final approval to disburse the 2025 grants. The process has taken longer than expected due to the volume of applications, and the need to robustly assess each application against a set of established criteria.

It is expected that the 2025 grants will be disbursed in the coming weeks and applicant organisations will be contacted directly in this regard.

I am further informed that my Department has provided an interim funding payment for this scheme of €24,000 on 7 March 2025.
