I propose to take Questions Nos. 825 and 845 together.
My Department provides funding to local authorities in respect of the Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and Disabled People, to assist eligible people in private houses to make their accommodation more suitable for their needs. The suite of grants, which includes the Housing Adaptation Grant for Disabled People, the Mobility Aids Grant and the Housing Aid for Older People Grant, are funded by the Department with a contribution from the resources of the local authority. The detailed administration of the grants, including the assessment, approval and prioritisation of applications, is the responsibility of the local authorities.
The scheme is subject to a means test assessing the income of the registered owner(s), and their spouse if applicable, of a property which is subject of an application and proof of ownership of such property is required by a local authority when processing an application.
My Department does not hold collated data in respect of the number of fossil fuel boilers funded by local authorities under this scheme. This information may be available directly from the local authorities.
