My Department operates the Employment Permits System in accordance with the Employment Permits Act 2024. The legislation sets out various criteria that must be met before an application can be granted, and all of the relevant information is set out on the website of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
The Employment Permits section of the Department informs me that it has reviewed the three applications submitted by the applicant concerned.
In relation to the first application, it was not possible to grant a renewal permit as the employee was working for a different employer than that stated on their original permit. The application was refused in line with section 40(1)(j)(ii) of the Employment Permits Act 2024.
Following receipt of the second application, the applicant was again asked to clarify why they were applying for a renewal permit for a company other than that stated on their original permit. No response was received to this request for information.
A third application received on the 31st of January 2025 was refused as the annual remuneration offered was less than the minimum threshold for the role (€30,000).
It is open to the applicant to submit a new application with the correct remuneration for the role. Any new application submitted must comply with all of the legislative criteria before a permit can be granted.
