504. To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the total number of critical skills employment permits that have been granted for registered nurses, registered midwives, between 2020 to date in 2025, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10568/25]

Ireland operates a managed employment permits system maximising the benefits of economic migration and minimising the risk of disrupting Ireland’s labour market. The system is designed to facilitate the entry of appropriately skilled non-EEA nationals to fill skills and/or labour shortages in the State required to develop and support enterprise for the benefit of our economy.

The table below shows the number of critical skills employment permits granted to nurses and midwives between 2020 and to date in 2025 in tabular form.

All applications for employment permits are dealt with in date order therefore the figures below are the the number of applications received as of the 4th of March 2025.
