In November 2020, then Minister Eamon Ryan, established the Angling Consultative Council of Ireland (ACCI), a stakeholder advisory group chaired by my Department comprising angling bodies with a national remit as well as members of the Executive of Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI). In 2024, it was renamed the Angling Advisory Group (AAG) and provides a platform for policy inputs and addressing shared issues for angling specifically across its diverse disciplines.

In the latter part of 2023, a funding agreement between my Department and the Angling Council of Ireland (ACI), which is affiliated to Sports Ireland, relevant to the work of the Angling Advisory Group (AAG) was finalised and €50,000 was paid to the ACI that year in accordance with the terms of the funding agreement and DPER Circular 13/2014.
