51. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the measures being taken by his Department to encourage the installation of information signage on approach to towns and villages to notify the public of the historical, cultural and artistic amenities available locally; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has no function in relation to the installation of information signage on approach to towns and villages, however, Fáilte Ireland do play a wider role part in assisting tourists in orientation and wayfinding.
In that regard, I have asked Fáilte Ireland to reply directly to the Deputy outlining the role they play. If the Deputy does not hear from the agency within ten working days, please contact my office.
