My Department provides funding to Men's Sheds and Women’s (Sister) Sheds under various funding streams, namely the Community Enhancement Programme/Local Enhancement Programme and its various iterations, SICAP, LEADER, Scheme to Support National Organisations (SSNO) and via the Irish Men’s Shed Association (IMSA).

Men’s sheds apply individually for most of the schemes mentioned above. The funding channelled by my Department through the IMSA in 2022, 2023 and 2024 was distributed directly to the men’s sheds by that organisation. My Department does not keep a central register of Men’s Sheds.

My understanding is that while some effort is ongoing to establish a similar central organisation for Women's/Sister Sheds, one has yet to be established. The women's/sister sheds funded through DRCD schemes apply individually to the various schemes. My Department does not keep a central list of Women's/Sister Sheds.

As it is the central body for Men’s Sheds, I would advise the Deputy to contact the IMSA for details of Men’s Sheds in the east Cork constituency. As there is no overarching Women’s/Sister Sheds organisation at present, details of Women’s/Sister Sheds who have received funding through my Department can be located on the website, www.gov.ie/drcd.
