The Department has three EU Directives requiring transposition.

Two of the Directives relate to the COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DIRECTIVE (EU) 2024/3010 of 29 November 2024 amending Council Directives 2002/55/EC, 2002/57/EC and 93/61/EEC- the provisions as they relate to Directive 2002/55 (Vegetable Seed) were last updated by SI 202 of 2020, the provisions as they relate to Directive 2002/57 (Seed of Oil Plants & Fibre Plants) were last updated by SI 201 of 2020 and the provisions as they relation to Directive 93/61 were last updated by SI 200 of 2020.

The amendments will be completed by way of three distinct Statutory Instruments and are due to be transposed into Irish law shortly.

The third Directive requiring transposition relates to DIRECTIVE (EU) 2024/1438 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 14 May 2024 amending Council Directives 2001/110/EC relating to honey, 2001/112/EC relating to fruit juices and certain similar products intended for human consumption, 2001/113/EC relating to fruit jams, jellies and marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée intended for human consumption, and 2001/114/EC relating to certain partly or wholly dehydrated preserved milk for human consumption. Transposition is required by Member States by 14 December 2025 with measures applicable from 14 June 2026.
