There are no EU Directives or Regulations under the aegis of my Department awaiting transposition into Irish law.

Last year, my predecessor as Minister for Social Protection signed Regulations that transposed EU 2016/589 into domestic legislation - SI 553 of 2024. The purpose of these Regulations is to facilitate employment agencies other than solely Public Employment Services (Intreo) to participate in the EURES network of organisations.

EURES is a network that connects jobseekers, employers, and employment services across EU Member States. It provides information on job vacancies and support for jobseekers willing to move to another EU country.
