There are a number of supports of the types referenced in the Deputy's question potentially available to Irish students who choose to study abroad.

Irish students studying within the EU or UK at undergraduate level may be eligible for SUSI maintenance grants.

Erasmus grants are available for students enrolled in Irish Higher Education Institutions who wish to study abroad as part of their degree programme, or for Irish students who wish to pursue short or long term vocational education and training opportunities.

Additionally, tax relief at the standard rate of tax is available for qualifying courses in qualifying institutions in both the UK and EU.

There are many scholarship opportunities available for Irish citizens wishing to study in the EU through the EU Scholarships. For students wishing to study outside of the EU or UK, many private scholarships exist, and I would encourage students to research these opportunities, whether they be through universities or separate, privately sponsored scholarships.
