I can advise the Deputy that the visa application referred to was refused and this decision was upheld by the Visa Office on appeal. The reasons for the refusal of the appeal were outlined to the person in a letter issued on 1 December 2024.
I appreciate that this decision has likely caused disappointment. However, I can advise that is still open to person concerned to apply again for an Irish visa in the future. Their prior immigration history is a matter of record but any future application will be assessed on its own merits taking all relevant information into consideration.
Guidelines to assist individuals making visa applications are published on my Department's website. Applicants that carefully follow these guidelines have an improved prospect of receiving a positive decision. Further information for applying for a Type C Short Stay Visit Visa, together with the documents required is available at the following link:

As an Oireachtas member, you can also request the status of individual immigration cases by e-mail, using the Oireachtas Mail facility at: , which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Question process.
