My Department secured funding of €500,000 in Budget 2024 for Period Dignity initiatives. €250,000 of the funding went to Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and €250,000 went to publicly funded Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This was part of wider Government efforts to break down barriers to access to higher and further education and specifically to ensure that no students could be disadvantaged in their education by period poverty.
The Higher Education Authority allocated the funding to Higher Education Institutions in June 2024 as per the table below.
Institute | Allocation |
---|---|
Atlantic Technological University (incl St Angela's College) | €21,750.00 |
Dublin City University | €19,500.00 |
Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology | €2,250.00 |
Dundalk Institute of Technology | €4,750.00 |
