137. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the number of pupils enrolled in junior infants in existing primary schools in Ireland 2024/2025; the number in 2022/2023 and 2023/2024; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8347/25]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 137 and 138 together.

Please note that the Department does not currently publish class standard data by constituency.

The Department does publish enrolments by School Planning Area.

Please find attached Junior Infant enrolment data for those SPAs contained within the Dublin Mid-West constituency. The data also includes those schools within the designated SPA but which lie outside of Dublin Mid-west.

Please note that final data including standard data for the 2024-25 academic year is not yet available, we expect to publish final data for 2024-25 in June 2025.

Enrolments in Junior Infants peaked in 2021/22 with 63,825 pupils nationally. Figures are gradually declining, with 62,611 pupils in 23/24, and are expected to continue to decline over the next number of years.
