The permanent school building project for the school referred to by the Deputy is being delivered under my Department's Design and Build programme and will provide a new 1,000 pupil post-primary school and accommodation, including four classrooms, for children with special educational needs.
The project is currently in construction. Phase 1 of the building, which delivered accommodation for 680 children, including a temporary classbase and multi-sensory room for children with special educational needs, was handed over on 23rd August 2024.
Phase 2 of the building, which includes the delivery of accommodation for an additional 320 children and accommodation, including four classrooms, for children with special educational needs, has an estimated completion of Q2 2025.
My Department will continue to keep the patron body and the school updated as the project progresses including an updated programme for the delivery of the external areas.
