322. To ask the Minister for Finance the number of landlords availing of residential premises rental income relief in 2024; the cost to the Exchequer in 2024; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8047/25]

The Residential Premises Rental Income Relief (RPRIR) introduced in 2024, provides relief, at the standard rate, on a portion of a landlord’s residential rental income. The relief is €3,000 in the tax year 2024, €4,000 in the tax year 2025 and €5,000 in the tax years 2026 and 2027, which is equivalent to a tax credit of up to €600, €800 and €1,000 respectively.

I am advised by Revenue that the RPRIR for individual landlords of rented residential premises was first introduced for the 2024 tax year.

I am further advised by Revenue that Income Tax Returns in respect of the year 2024 are not due until 31 October 2025. Therefore, Revenue currently has no data in relation to claims for this credit.

At the time of its introduction, the estimated cost of the RPRIR for 2024 was €45 million.
