307. To ask the Minister for Finance the amount of revenue that was raised from the 9% rate of VAT on newspapers in 2022, before this was reduced to 0% in 2023; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7446/25]

I am informed by Revenue that traders are not required to identify the VAT yield generated from the supply of specific services or specific VAT rates on their VAT returns. Therefore, it is not possible to provide an accurate estimate for the VAT yield generated from the sale of newspapers specifically.
However, using third-party data sources, the VAT yield from the sale of newspapers in 2022 is tentatively estimated to be in the region of €26m.
