244. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will consider waiving the replacement fee for drivers over the age of 70 whose licence has been stolen, provided they have obtained a case number from An Garda Síochána; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7272/25]

The fee for a duplicate driving licence is 35 Euros. This fee is set out in the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Fees) Regulations 2024 (SI 673 of 2024).

It is not proposed to change the fee for a duplicate driving licence. There already exists the concession whereby drivers aged 70 years and over do not have to pay for the renewal of their licence.
