My Department will publish the Ministerial brief I received upon taking office on the Department's website shortly. The briefing material covers the wide range of activities associated with my Department across the functional areas of energy; climate action and environment; circular economy and resource efficiency; EU and international affairs and marine planning; telecommunications and cybersecurity; as well as the Department's corporate functions. It should be noted that the telecommunications and cybersecurity functions are due to transfer out of my Department under separate transfer of functions orders and discussions are underway in this regard.

As announced by the Government on 29 January 2025, Minister of State, Alan Dillon has been appointed as Minister of State to my Department with special responsibility for the Circular Economy. Subject to the necessary amendments being made to the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1977, Minister of State, Timmy Dooley has been nominated for appointment as Minister of State to my Department with special responsibility for the Marine. The exact functions to be delegated to the Ministers of State in my Department are being considered and will be set out in an Order under the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1977 in due course
