I understand that the Deputy has received a response from the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth in respect of this matter and specifically as regards the Building Blocks Extension Grants Scheme.
While my Department does not have responsibility in respect of the provision of créche facilities, a small number of childcare facilities have been funded under my Department's Community Recognition Fund. As the Deputy will be aware, the fund provides support for community facilities in locations that have welcomed and supported new arrivals in Ireland. This fund provides broad flexibility for communities to identify different types of facilities based on their needs.
My Department also delivers the Community Centres Investment Fund which provides funding for the development of community centres, some of which may also provide facilities for community childcare groups.
Details of these and other funding supports are available on my Department's website.
