I propose to take Questions Nos. 798 and 802 together.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022, my Department continues to work as part of the whole-of-Government response with a focus on providing access to emergency temporary accommodation to those fleeing the conflict who request it, in line with Government policy. This supports Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) to make longer term independent arrangements if they decide to remain in Ireland for the duration of the Temporary Protection Directive.

The property to which the Deputy refers was contracted by my Department in April 2022 to provide emergency temporary accommodation to BOTPs. Initially, its capacity was set at 759 beds. In 2024, at the provider’s request, that capacity for BOTPs was reduced to enable vacant beds to be used for International Protection applicants in need of accommodation.

My Department cannot provide further details regarding contractual arrangements with individual properties due to the commercially sensitive nature of such matters.

Details of payments made to specific providers for specific locations are also not publicly supplied by my Department as such details are commercially sensitive. However, the Deputy may wish to note that payments over €20,000 to suppliers of the Department generally, including accommodation providers, are periodically published officially at: www.gov.ie/en/collection/dfdadb-department-of-children-and-youth-affairs-purchase-orders-for-20000-o/

My Department’s standard contractual arrangement with providers of Ukraine accommodation is to pay for minimum occupancy of each room at an agreed single adult rate and for any additional occupants at an agreed additional occupancy rate.
