770. To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to comment on the withdrawal of funding by TUSLA from a school (details supplied) in the constituency of Dublin South West and to give a roadmap, if any is open to the preschool to maintain their services as they may be forced to issue notices to staff in the coming weeks due to this withdrawal of funding; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The withdrawal of Tusla funding from a school is a matter for Tusla and we will refer the Deputy's question on to them.
In addition to the increased level of Core Funding for year 3 of the scheme and fee management developments, there are wider financial supports available from my Department where early learning and care and school-age childcare services are experiencing financial difficulty or has concerns about their viability.
Once a service engages with their local County/City Childcare Committee they will be able to avail of supports through the case management process. Through this process, local County/City Childcare Committee and Pobal work together to assess and provide support to Early Learning and Childcare and School Aged Childcare services experiencing difficulties.
This support can take the form of general operational supports as well as more specialised advice and support appropriate to the individual circumstances of a service.
Pobal, the scheme administrator, has informed my Department that this service is currently engaging with their local County/City Childcare Committee and Pobal regarding sustainability supports.
