The Court Proceedings (Delays) Act 2024 provides for the establishment of an independent assessment process, under the aegis of the Department of Justice, to assess claims for breach of the right to the conclusion of proceedings within a reasonable time.

Arrangements to operationalise the requirements of the Act are currently being finalised with a view to the Act being commenced this autumn.
