To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment to examine the issue of exclusive broadcasting rights for major sporting events in Ireland, particularly a UK-based provider (details supplied) that holds a dominant position in the Irish market, leading to limited competition, no direct VAT contribution, and increased costs for the hospitality sector; and if he will explore policy options to promote fairer market access for Irish businesses.
