Normal craft apprenticeship progression requires a minimum of 6 months of on the job Phase 3 training. Once the apprentice has successfully completed Phase 3 training they are eligible to enter the Phase 4 national waiting list where the National Apprenticeship Office can call an apprentice to the next available Phase 4 training place. Phase 4 training is scheduled in the academic year.

Government continues to prioritise investment in apprenticeship delivery to ensure sufficient training places for current and future skills needs.
