A range of SEAI supports are in place to make it easier and more affordable for homeowners to undertake home energy upgrades, for warmer, healthier and more comfortable homes, with lower energy bills and emissions.

The specific data sought by the Deputy in relation to SEAI schemes can be found detailed in the table below.

Homes retrofitted to a BER B2 standard or higher by SEAI scheme

Scheme 2020 2021
Better Energy Homes 1,446 1,510
Solar PV 978 1,655
Warmer Homes Scheme 26 54
National Home Energy Upgrade Scheme /OSS 199 813
Community Energy Grants 629 313
Total 3,278 4,345
It is important to note that activity under the schemes was significantly impacted in both 2020 and 2021 by the COVID pandemic.

During the period 2022 to 2024, over 129,000 energy upgrades have been supported by the SEAI. Of these, almost 48,000 were to a BER B2 level or higher.
