The project referred to by the Deputy is devolved for delivery to the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) as part of a programme of school building projects.
The brief includes the development of a 16-classroom primary school, 4 class Special Education Needs (SEN) unit, general purpose room and various ancillary accommodation.
The project is currently at Stage 1.
In November 2024 a Stage 1 meeting took place. Additional information was requested from the Design Team to address queries raised. Once this information is received, reviewed, and approved by my Department, the project will progress to Stage 2a, the developed design stage.
As the project is at an early stage in the delivery process, it is not possible at this time to give a date for its completion.
However, the NDFA are engaging directly with the school authority to keep it informed of progress.
The current status of all projects is listed on a county-by-county basis at www.gov.ie. and this is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, tender and construction.

The current position in respect of the joint major building project referred to by the Deputy is as follows;
The major project for St. John Bosco Boys JNS, St. John Bosco SNS, and Mary Help of Christians GNS is currently at Stage 2(a) of Architectural Planning - Developed Design - which is a crucial element of the architectural planning process as it is at this stage that the design is developed to a stage where it can be fully cost planned and prepared to lodge for statutory approvals.
The Stage 2(a) submission was received in the Department during the summer of 2024, and the Stage 2(a) Stakeholders meeting took place on Wednesday 16th October, with representatives from the 3 schools Board of Management, the Design Team and Department officials invited to attend.
Following that meeting, the Design Team are progressing to address the Department comments.
The Department is committed to progressing this project through architectural planning, and is supporting the design team in preparing the project design so that it can apply for all statutory approvals, including planning permission.
The Design Team currently anticipate submitting their revised Stage 2(a) Report to my Department at the end of this month, and on receipt and review, the date for the Stakeholders meeting will be confirmed.
