128. To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade the number of passport books and cards that were issued to Kilkenny applicants in 2024; how many are expected to issue in 2025; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5917/25]

The Passport Service issued over one million passport books and cards in 2024.
There were 7,515 adult passports and 4,966 child passports issued to residents of County Kilkenny in 2024, bringing the total number of passports issued to Kilkenny residents to 12,481.
Passport Service forecasts estimate that there will be over 940,000 passport applications submitted in 2025. Based on these figures, the Passport Service estimates that there will be approximately 11,000 applications from residents of County Kilkenny in 2025.
The Passport Service continues to be in an excellent position to meet the demand forecast for 2025, with 858 officers currently assigned to it.
I would ask the Deputy to encourage his constituents who are travelling this year, particularly those with young children who require their first passport, to apply online and in plenty of time.

With regard to the specific application about which the Deputy has enquired, the Passport Service has issued the passport to the applicant.
